Religion is not the same thing as grace.
Israel begins with a disquieting claim: God used religion to hold Satan’s attention on Israel and the law, while concealing His larger purpose, salvation for the whole world.
Harlan Perry follows that thought through the language of law, the claims of religious performance, and the possibility that grace was never meant to be an afterthought.

Before you begin
Questions, answered plainly.
No. Israel asks readers to reconsider long-held assumptions about religion and grace. It is written to provoke honest thought, not to offer an easy answer.
